Sonoma Golf Club

The Sonoma Golf Club was originally designed and constructed in 1928 by Sam Whiting and Willie Watson, the architects who designed the Olympic Club in San Francisco. The features of this classically styled golf course had been lost through years of inadequate attention. Therefore, the primary goal of our 1990 renovation was to gently restore the subtle yet important features that make this a fair and traditional test of golf. To accomplish this, all tees, greens, bunkers, and the irrigation and drainage systems were rebuilt to state-of-the-art standards. This enables the golf course to accommodate the increased level of play found today, while still presenting old golf traditions to a new generation. The Sonoma Golf Club hosts the year-ending Tour Championship for the PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR.
